32-Year-Old Woman Tried To Enroll In N.Y. High School As 15-Year-Old Girl
Most of us can’t wait to get out of high school, but, it seems one woman couldn’t wait to go back!
A 32-year-old woman was arrested in Cairo, New York, for trying to enroll at a local high school while pretending to be a homeless teenager.
According to People, a senior investigator with the Green County Sheriff’s Office states that Michaelann Goodrich was arrested and charged with offering felony false information for filing, felony falsifying business records and misdemeanor criminal trespassing. She is currently at Green County Jail.
The woman allegedly tried to use the name Riley Madison while claiming she was a 15-year-old high school student. She reportedly rode the school bus and even attend a few classes.
It was later discovered that Goodrich already had a high school diploma. She was able to be admitted into the school immediately due to the McKinney-Vento Act, which is a federal law which requires schools to admit homeless teenagers immediately admitted.
The woman has not revealed her motive for returning to high school.
