Four people are still missing after a cargo ship capsized off the coast of Georgia!
A search crew is still looking for four people who were on board a cargo ship when it capsized off the coast of Georgia early Sunday morning.
U.S. Coast Guards say that they received an alert at around 2 a.m. that a 656-foot cargo ship in St. Simon Sound with 23 crew members and a pilot on board was in distress.
Rescue crews were able to locate and help 20 crew members as the ship caught fire, but four people were not able to be found. As of now, the cause for the ship’s capsizing is still under investigation.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Dickinson is taking into consideration if the weather from Hurricane Dorian played a role in this ship flipping over.
This incident comes just days after 34 people were confirmed dead following a boat fire off the coast of California.
