5-Year-Old’s Skull Fractured After Glass Bottle Is Thrown From SUV
Police are looking for the driver of an SUV in Corona, California who threw out a glass bottle that hit a 5-year-old girl in the head and fractured her skull and collarbone.
The attack occurred at 2:40 p.m. at Lincoln Avenue, when Karla Zosayas, 5, was walking home from school with her brother and sister. The group was walking on a sidewalk when the SUV passed and hurled the bottle out of the window.
The little girl began to bleed from her head and was taken to an intensive care unit at a children’s hospital, where doctors have been working to fix a brain bleed in her skull.
“I just remember looking down and seeing my little sister on the ground,” her sister Maria Zosoyas told KTLA.
“I feel really bad for her. She’s such a young age and she has to suffer through this, and she doesn’t really know what’s happening fully,” she added.
“For my family, everyone’s scared and angry, because whoever did this obviously was heartless. They didn’t care.”
In a written statement police said that the SUV has been described as a large, silver or gray vehicle, potentially a Chevrolet Tahoe.
