WEtv released a snippet of the upcoming season of “Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition,” where Carter will appear alongside his mother, Jane Carter and open up about his complicated past with Jackson.

“Michael was a really good guy, as far as I know, a really good guy,” Carter says in a sneak peek of the WEtv series. “He never did anything that was inappropriate,” he continues, “except for one time. There was one thing that he did that was a little bit inappropriate.”

Carter met Jackson when he was 14 at a recording studio in 2001. The two gotten so close, Carter performed his hit, “I Want Candy,” at Jackson’s anniversary celebration at Madison Square Garden. Their friendship grew over the years but it became a problem to outsiders who believed they were having a sexual relationship.

However, in 2004, Carter shut down rumors that he and the 13-time Grammy winner had that type of relationship. Furthermore, he has defended the singer all the way up to his death and after.
