Alabama Bill To Require Castration For Child Molesters
Lawmakers in Alabama are considering passing a bill that would permanently and physically punish convicted child molesters through chemical castration.
Additionally, the proposal, HB 379, potentially would require sex offenders receive an injection or pills to significantly reduce libido before leaving prison.
While under parole, the offender would take drugs to block the production of testosterone and hormones; if refused, they’ll be taken into custody. Currently, HB 379 is on Governor Kay Ivey‘s desk for signature.
In addition, Texas holds their own chemical castration law as “treatment” to suppress sex offenders’ sex drive; though isn’t a condition of probation or parole.
