A Brooklyn Army veteran opened fire with an AR-15 after he learned that his wife cheated on him.
According to the Daily Mail, Harold Beard,28, opened fire on the second floor of his home in Dyker Heights after learning about his wife’s infidelity on January 7. NYPD officials reported that Beard fired at least 29 rounds from an AR-15 around 12:30 a.m. No bystanders were injured during the shooting but several bullets were fired into Beard’s car and his neighbor’s windows.

Another neighbor said Beard called the police on himself and took the gun shortly after the shooting:
‘I get up… and I see all the cop cars coming down . . . [police] running out of the car,’
He was very calm,’ he said. ‘He took the gun apart, left it on the porch and called the cops on himself.’

NYPD officers arrested and charged Beard with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a deadly weapon. He is currently the custody of the army on restrictive duty.
