Ashton Kutcher Gives Testimony In Murder Trial Of Woman He Dated
Ashton Kutcher testified in the trial of Hollywood serial killer Muchael Gargiulo, who faces murder charges in connection with the killings of two women, one of which was Ashton Kutcher’s friend, Ashley Ellerin.
Kutcher appeared in court on Wednesday to take the stand in the “Hollywood Ripper” trial, stemming from murders in the 2000’s.
Ellerin was killed moments before she was set to go out on a date with the actor. Kutcher reveals that he spoke to Ellerin numerous times that day before he went to her house to pick her up. However, after she didn’t answer the door, he looked through her back window and saw what he believed to be red wine stains. He then left her residence.
“I was trying to take her on a date and I didn’t want to sound overeager, so I just left her a message,” he said, as reported by US Weekly.
Ellerin’s body was found the next day in a pool of blood, not wine stains.
“We believe she had just exited the shower and was getting ready to go out with Mr. Kutcher when she was attacked from behind,” said Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Dan Akemon.
Kutcher says he went to the police straight away upon discovery of her death.
“I remember the next day after I heard about what happened and I went to the detectives and said, ‘My fingerprints were on the door’ and I was freaking out,” Kutcher added.
Ellerin was stabbed over 47 times. Kutcher is one of 200 people who are scheduled to testify in the case. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
