Atlanta On Lockdown After SWAT Situation With Naked Man On Roof
Nothing surprises us out of Atlanta anymore!
WSBTV reports that police had to block of two streets after SWAT tried to cooperate with a naked man on a roof in Atlanta’s 300 blocks of 4th Street in Midtown.
Atlanta police said they responded to the area just after 5 a.m. Friday after the man was causing a ruckus.
Channel 2’s Kristen Holloway spoke to neighbors who say the man has been on the roof for hours.
Police also surrounded the roof with inflatables so that the man did not fall off and hurt himself. Witnesses say that SWAT has been trying to negotiate with him for hours. They have been trying to persuade him to get down from the roof and offer him food and water.
Neighbors say it all began in the early hours of the morning when the man began banging on people’s doors. He then climbed onto one neighbor’s roof and took his clothes off!
One man told WSBTV,
“He smashed out the back window in the kitchen, entered the house and he was in the living room, we think, when my little dog here freaked out on the guy,” Eric Johnson said.
The situation is currently ongoing.
UPDATE: Officers just put inflatables on the side of the home in case the man falls. This SWAT standoff is going on 7hrs now. Coming up at noon, hear from a man who says the guy broke into his home early this morning. @wsbtv pic.twitter.com/F9A3lxDy3E
