Ava DuVernay & Netflix Score Most 2019 Emmy Nominations With ‘When They See Us’
In addition to Beyoncé (for Homecoming) and Viola Davis (for How To Get Away With Murder), Ava DuVernay, alongside Netflix, have scored the most nominations for the 2019 Emmy Awards, with their incredible work on When They See Us.
Additionally, the highly-watched four-part series sit with a whopping 16 noms, including Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special and Outstanding Limited Series.
Also, the documentary’s actors Jharrel Jerome and Michael K. Williams earned their own noms for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, respectively; while Niecy Nash and Aunjanue Ellis share a nom for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
