Baby Falls On Ground As Cop Attempts To Arrest Mother
Police in Georgia are in hot water after video has emerged of an officer arresting a mother who was holding a 7-month-old baby. The struggle causes her to drop the child.
WSBTV reports that Breonna Bell had called Covington police seeking help as she was locked out of her vehicle, however, the officers told her she had outstanding probation violations and would be arrested.
A passerby’s video that was posted on Facebook shows the altercation
“I see the police just manhandling this lady and her pants down,” Alfonso Dennis told CBS46. “The police just grabbed her, and just slammed, like a wrestling match or something,” he said.
The footage shows the baby fall to the ground as the woman struggles with the officer. Her pants also fall down as she screams.
Covington Police Capt. Ken Malcolm claims that the officers acted appropriately and repeatedly asked her to hand her baby to a friend, but she continued to resist arrest. He also claims the baby was not hurt.
Bell is currently being held in the Newton County Jail without bond and is being charged with violating her probation. No action has been taken toards the officers.
