A North Carolina barbershop owner raised enough money to pay the debts of 14 students off!

Season Bennett says she was inspired by billionaire investor, Robert Smith who vowed to relieve 400 students from Morehouse College of their debt.

“I thought, ‘Wow, that is just such a powerful thing for anybody,’” Bennett told WBTV. “So many students go into so much debt just trying to get an education.”

“It just seems like that’s just the basic in our culture,” Bennett added. “You need to get at least your high school diploma.”

Bennett then contacted East Mecklenburg High School and asked about the debts of seniors. She discovered that 14 students were in debt and would not be able to graduate and get their diplomas until they paid it off.

“We called the school to find out if there were any graduating seniors that wouldn’t be able to graduate because they owe fees,” Bennett wrote in the bio of a GoFundMepage she created in order to pay off the $4,500 debt. “We were told that there are 14 seniors at East Mecklenburg High School who can’t walk at graduation or receive their diploma because they owe money.”

She shared it on social media and managed to make $1000 hero’s. The daughter of NFL player, Thomas Davis saw it and donated $4,000! This meant that all 14 seniors who were previously in debt could graduate.

Bennett was so happy and added that one student’s reaction meant everuthing to her. “One girl dropped to her knees, and she just said, ‘I have to call my mom,'” Bennett said. “She said her mom was working on getting a loan.”

Now these students have a real shot of a future!
