Fans are patiently waiting for the arrival of “The Lion King” live-action movie, but we just got a taste as to what Beyonce and Donald Glover sound like together!
When the news broke that “The Lion King” was being made into a live-action movie starting names like Beyonce and Donald Glover, fans were ecstatic to see the possibilities of the soundtrack.
While the wait seemed long, it is surely winding down as Disney releases “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” featuring Beyonce and Glover.
The song, which is a staple piece in the movie (aside from Hakuna Matata) is the romantic duet that Nala and Simba share as they fall in love.
This piece starts off with Billy Eichner, who plays Timon, and Seth Rogen, who voices Pumba in a mini skit about Simba falling in love with Nala. That’s followed up by major magic as Bey comes in followed by Glover which literally gives you chills. At the end, Eichner and Rogen return to finish it up.
In a recent interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Glover talked about working with Queen Bey revealing that while its a duet, they didn’t record in the same room.
“I requested not to be. I did not want to be looking into Beyonce’s eyes while doing this,” he said. “But no, actually, I was working on Solo [A Star Wars Story] at the time, so I was in London, so I recorded at Abbey Road Studios.”
“I imagine it’s less intimidating playing basketball with Michael Jordan if you’re at home just throwing pieces of paper in the trash.”
“The Lion King” soundtrack features remakes of the film’s classic songs like “I Just Can’t-Wait to be King,” “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata,” and a new original song from Beyoncé titled “Spirit.”
“The Lion King” hits theaters on July 19.
