‘Beyoncé and Jay-Z Day’ Is Now An Official Holiday That Exists In Minnesota

“Beyoncé and Jay-Z Day” Is Now An Official Holiday That Exists In Minnesota

Two years ago the governor of Minnesota marked down May 23, 2016 as “Beyoncé Day” in honor of her Formation show that year. Now, it looks like Governor Mark Dayton’s love for the Queen has grew even stronger as he locked in Aug. 8 as “Beyoncé and Jay-Z Day” in his state.

In an official proclamation honoring the On the Run II Tour concert that Beyoncé and Jay-Z were set to perform on Wednesday evening at Minneapolis’s U.S. Bank Stadium, gave the latest update:

“Through their lives and music, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have inspired Minnesotans and music fans around the world.” Dayton’s proclamation states, adding, therefore, I now Mark Dayton, Governor Of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, August 8, 2018, as Beyoncé and Jay-Z day.”

Now, as most of us know, Beyoncé is from Houston and Jay-Z is from Brooklyn but clearly, Minnesota does not discriminate against out-of-state citizens.
