Beyoncé, Jharrel Jerome, Niecy Nash & More Are Nominated For Emmys!

The nominees for this year’s big Emmys were announced today and some of our favorites are up for the prestigious award! Comedians Ken Jeong (Dr. Ken) and D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place) announced the entertainers who have snagged a nod(s), and stars like Jharrel Jerome, Niecey Nash and Beyoncé are on that list!

Beyoncé’s “Homecoming” Netflix special scored not one, not two, but six Emmy nominations. The documentary is up for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Writing, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Costumes For Variety.

Actor Jharrel Jerome‘s powerful performance in Ava DuVernay’s Netflix series “When They See Us“ earned the actor an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor; a first for the 21-year-old. Co-star Niecy Nash also earned her first Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.

Aside from this greatness, The hit HBO drama “Game Of Thrones” walked away with double digit Emmy nominations today, setting a new record for most nominations earned in a single year by any drama series. GOT has already won 47 Emmys and has been nominated 161 times, including this year’s nominations. According to CNN, it is currently the most Emmy-winning primetime series in history.

The 2019 Emmy Awards will be held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 22. Check out the full list here.
