Beyoncé Pays Tribute To Michelle Obama in Time 100 Issue
Many people have been sending Beyonce praise for her incredible and very inspiring “Homecoming” documentary that was recently released on Netflix. Now, Beyonce is sending over that same type of love to Michelle Obama for landing in Time’s 100 issue.
Obama, 55, was named one of the most influential people of the year on the 2019 list, and the 37-year-old singer penned a short message explaining exactly why she thinks the honor is so well deserved.
“Loving Michelle Obama wasn’t much of a choice,’ Beyoncé began. ‘It was something that came naturally, because of how she carried herself. Because she resembled us and was moving in spaces where, as black Americans, we weren’t exactly meant to be, she seemed so powerful.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer also praised the “strong and ambitious” former First Lady for using her platform to help others.
“She empowers all of us to interrogate our fears and surpass greatness,” Beyoncé wrote. “I am so grateful that my daughters and my son live in a world where Michelle Obama shines as a beacon of hope who inspires all of us to do better and to be better.”
Joining Michelle Obama on the list is NBA star LeBron James, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Pope Francis, special counsel Robert Mueller, Christine Blasey Ford, President Donald Trump and more.
