Big3 Star Andre Emmet Killed In Texas
Former college basketball player and Ice Cube’s BIG3 star Andre Emmett was tragically shot and killed in Dallas on Monday. He was just 37-years-old.
According to TMZ, Dallas police report that Emmett was approached by two suspects while he was in his car in front of his house at 2:30 AM on Monday. One of the suspects is reported to have pulled a gun on him before an argument ensued.
Emmett was shot multiple times while he tried to run from the armed men. He died at the hospital.
Emmett was “approached by two unknown suspects as he sat in his vehicle in front of his residence in the 1800 block of N. Prairie Avenue. The suspects displayed a handgun and an altercation ensued, during which the victim was shot as he ran away from the suspects,” Dallas police said in a statement.
The BIG3 released a statement following the death,
“The BIG3 is in a state of shock over the sudden and tragic death of Andre Emmett. Andre was a member of the BIG3 family for two seasons and never without a smile on his face. His kindness towards others and easy-going demeanor made him a joy to be around.”
Witnesses told police that they saw two suspects drive from the scene in a white Chrysler 300.
