Family’s Basement Flooded With Blood After Neighbor Dumps Animal Remains In Drain

An Iowa family was in for a bloody surprise after their basement was flooded with animal blood.

KTIV reports Nick Lestina and his family were preparing to put their Bagley home on the market when they discovered that the basement was flooded with blood. Authorities reported that the basement was filled with almost five inches of animal blood, fat and bones due to the family’s neighbors from Dahl’s Meat Locker draining the remains into a floor drain. The floor drain was connected to Lestina’s pipes in his home.

However, the owners of Dahl’s Meat Locker told Lestina they will offer to help the family with any financial costs.

“As our insurance company has said, we didn’t cause it on purpose. We didn’t intentionally do it. We weren’t negligent. There are business processes that need to work on something.”

The cost to clean up the mess will cost the family $4,000.
