California Woman Dies After Being Eaten By Three Sharks In Bahamas
A California woman tragically lost her life after being attacked by three sharks while she was snorkeling in the Bahamas.
Jordan Lindsey, 21, from Torrance, California, was attacked shortly after 2 p.m. near Rose Island. Deputy Commissioner Paul Rolle, says that she was bitten by three sharks and suffered bites to her arms, legs and buttocks. Her right arm was also completely bitten.
According to WPLG, her family who went on the snorkeling expedition with her said that they spotted the sharks and tried to warn her, but it was too late. After she was taken to shore they transported her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
“The Ministry of Tourism, on behalf of the government and the people of the Bahamas, expresses its condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the victim of Wednesday’s shark attack off Rose Island, near New Providence,” the Ministry of Tourism said in a statement.
The public are being advised to take precaution in the area while officials investigate to determine if it is safe or not.
It is not clear what type of shark attacked Jordan.
