Foxx Subpoenaed In Smollett Case
Ex-appellate Judge Sheila O’Brien has subpoenaed Chicago State’s top prosecutor Kim Foxx to appear in court over her handling of the controversial Jussie Smollett case.
Also, O’Brien subpoenaed Foxx’s top deputy Joseph Magats, and filed paperwork for Smollett to appear at the same hearing.
Furthermore, O’Brien’s subpoenas arrives after Foxx’s office suddenly dropped 16 felony disorderly conduct charges against the Empire star; claiming Foxx’s handling was “plagued with irregularity.” She adds, “Foxx misled the public into believing that Smollett’s case was handled like any other prosecution and without influence.”
Additionally, the former judge requests that Foxx and Magats turnover all original documents in the case; proving “that they have not been altered or destroyed and will not be destroyed throughout this case.”
