Colin Kaepernick Convinces Nike To Pull Flag-Themed Shoe
Colin Kaepernick is using his influence and relationship with Nike to remove a line of sneakers that features a flag from their catalog because he believes it is offensive.
The Nike Air Max was going to feature an old U.S. flag with 13 stars from the American Revolution however, the footwear giant pulled it after Kaepernick voiced his issues with the design.
TMZ reports that Nike had gone as far sending the shoes out to stores, but they quickly asked for them back after hearing Colin’s concerns.
Colin, is famously endorsed by Nike, is said to have reached out to the brand to voice his concerns after images of the shoe with the Betsy Ross flag began to circulate. He believes that the design is offensive due to its connection with slavery.Colin wasn’t the only one who showed his distaste in the design, many on social media also voiced their opinions.
