Colin Kaepernick Supporters & Spike Lee Planning Protest Aug. 23 At NFL Headquarters

In support of free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick, film director Spike Lee and supporters have planned a rally in support of the blackballed athlete.

Furthermore, Lee provided information on Tuesday (August 9) via Twitter, confirming that at 5 PM on August 23, all involved will meet at NFL Headquarters in NYC to stand by Kaepernick, who’s firmly against the injustices in the U.S.

While Lee provided the details to the events, he made sure to clarify that he hadn’t organized the rally, but wholly supports his “brother.”

As a result of his public stance, continuing from last season, on our president and social/racial injustices (kneeling during the national anthem, etc.), the 29-year-old remains unsigned.

Unfortunately, interest in the football player hasn’t been high since the end of the 2016 season.

At the moment, it’s unclear if Kaepernick is involved in the rally or is even backing it.

Additionally, it’s also unknown if the protest will create change or make a difference, but in theory, it is possible that the league will change its mind on finding a home for Kaepernick prior to the 23rd.

Moreover, this demonstration is not the first. Previously, about 75 protesters rallied at the 345 Park Avenue location to speak on the player’s behalf.
