Conor McGregor Settles Civil Lawsuit Over Alleged Phone Smashing, Criminal Charges Still Stand
While his criminal charges still stand, the civil lawsuit against Conor McGregor has been settled; this as the fan who sued him for an alleged assault and phone smashing filed to dismiss.
Subsequent to the March 11 incident, Ahmed Abdirzak sued McGregor, claiming he “slapped [his] phone out of his hand,” stomped on it several times, then picked it up and “walked away with it.”
Additionally, per TMZ, the suit, which included battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress, assumes to have been settled outside of court, in exchange for monies, as the victim filed to dismiss.
Furthermore, McGregor is still facing criminal charges in this case, including felony robery and misdemeanor criminal mischief. He faces up to 6 years in prison if convicted.
