Couple Accused Of Holding Woman As Sex Slave & Torturing Her In Front Of Kids
A woman was kidnapped and held as a sex slave at hotels in North Carolina, while she was tortured in front of her two kids.
The NY Post reports that the unidentified woman was biotin to “unspeakable violent acts” in front of her children at two hotels in Pineville. Sge was allegedly punished if she failed to make enough money by forcefully having sex with random men.
“The punishments range from verbal abuse, to beatings with a belt, being held under water/ice bath in a bathtub while being strangled and burned/branded with a hot wire coat hanger,” department officials said in a statement. “This violence was done in front of her two children and they were beaten as well with a belt at times.”
The woman’s kids, ages 6 and 8, were not sexually abused, however they were subject to the horrible ordeal their mother was going through at the hands of Thomas Antoine Miller, 26, and Shakeeta Lasha Adams, 25.
The pair were finally arrested after a three-week investigation into the matter. Authorities believe that there could be other victims.
“We want those victims to come forward to us,” police said. “We also want [them] to know that there is help out there for them. Our victim in this case and her children had a long road of physical and mental recovery ahead of them.”
Miller is facing charges of human trafficking of an adult victim, sexual servitude of an adult victim and assault on a child under 12. He is currently in custody at the Mecklenburg County jail, whereas Adams, was only charged with simple assault, and had been released from custody on Friday.
