Dad Accused Of Repeatedly Stuffing Child Into Dryer And Turning It On
Steven Todhunter, of Alabaster, Alabama, was arrested on January 12th for aggravated child abuse and felony domestic violence. The abuse against the boy happened between May 2017 and May 2018 and wasn’t reported until September 2018, per charging documents.
Al.com reports the 25-year-old put the boy inside the dryer and secured it from the outside with a chair on numerous occasions. The victim told police Todhunter stuffed him inside the washing machine, threatening to turn it on saying “the water is going to be very hot”. The documents did not mention the nature of the two’s relationship nor the toddler’s age.
This was not Todhunter’s first run-in for domestic violence as he has also been accused of holding a woman against her will and choking her unconscious. He was released on a $20,000 bond and is expected in court next month. According to online records, Todhunter has a past criminal record including child abuse charges.
