A Louisiana daycare is under investigation after four toddlers were found walking near a highway.
According to WAFB, the Louisana Department of Education recently revoked the license of the Color Wheel Learning Center after multiple incidents involving toddlers wandering off of the property. A report was filed on March 22 about four 1-year-olds exiting out of the daycare and one witness told police that they saw the four toddlers outside of a fence near LA Highway 44. The children were safely returned to the daycare.
Officials also reported that teaching staff at the Color Wheel Learning Center could not explain how the toddlers manage to escape under their supervision. Their license was revoked Friday after discovering more than 44 citations from the center in March and October.
Last year, a one-year-old managed to open the gate leading to the facility’s playground and parking lot. The staff who were supposed to be taking care of the child did not realize the mistake until another worker found the child in the parking lot.
