Discovery Picks Up ‘Killing Michael Jackson’ Documentary

Discovery Networks International has picked up a documentary that sheds light on the circumstances around the death of Michael Jackson.

The networking giant has taken the rights to “Killing Michael Jackson” from Zig Zag Productions in the UK, Italy, Germany and more.

The hour-long documentary will mark ten years since the pop legend’s death. It will focus on the three U.S. detectives who investigated the singer’s death in 2009.

Deadline reports that Orlando Martinez, Dan Myers, and Scott Smith will re-examine his death and she light on Doctor Conrad Murray, the man sentenced for the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson. The documentary will feature taped interviews with witnesses and case files from the incident.

“We are delighted that this documentary has been picked up in territories across the world,” said the managing director of Zig Zag Productions, Matt Graff. “This film focuses on the intriguing circumstances surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, giving audiences a fascinating insight into the final moments of the pop star’s life and the criminal process that lead to the arrest and conviction of Dr. Conrad Murray.”

A release date for the film has not yet been announced.
