DJ Khaled Reportedly Planning A Lawsuit Against Billboard After New Album Lands At No. 2

Mad, fed up and disappointed. Those are just some of the words to describe DJ Khaled who recently learned that his new album “Father Of Asahd” came in at No. 2 on the Billboard chart, right under Tyler The Creator’s album “Igor.”

Page Six initially reported that Khaled was so mad that he threw a temper tantrum at Epic Records after hearing the news. Apparently, the problem was that Tyler sold a total of 165,000 units of IGOR, when counting copies that were included with bundled purchases of merchandise and more. Khaled did the same thing with his album which was sold as a bundle with an energy and only moved 137,000 copies according to Billboard.

Sources close to the Khaled says Billboard refused to count another 100,000 of his bundled units without giving an explanation. Now, the rapper and his team is planning to argue to the court he was “unfairly disqualified” from earning the No. 1 spot.

Despite DJ Khaled’s claims, a Billboard source disputed that 100,000 DJ Khaled sales were disqualified but admitted an undisclosed number of his sales were not counted because “there were strange anomalies in the data.” The source added that the decision was based on chart rules following talks with Khaled’s management, Sony Records and Nielsen, Page Six reports.
