Donald Trump Calls For Tougher Crime Laws Following Philadelphia Shooting
Donald Trump is calling for “tougher crime laws” after a man shot and injured multiple police officers yesterday during an eight-hour standoff.
”The Philadelphia shooter should never have been allowed to be on the streets. He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police,” Trump Tweeted. “Long sentence – must get much tougher on street crime!”
Police had arrived to the home of Maurice Hill, 36, on Wednesday afternoon to serve an arrest warrant when he opened fire on them.
The injured cops were treated and released from the hospital with no life-threatening complications.
He was finally apprehended after officers fired tear gas into his home.
According to NBC 10, he will most likely face attempted murder and other related charges.
