Dukes of Hazzard Star, Tom Wopat, 65, Arrested For Indecent Assault And Cocaine Possession

USA today news has reported that Tom Wopat, 65, of the old hit show, Dukes of Hazzard, has been arrested and charged with indecent assault, after he allegedly stuck his hands down a woman’s pants; he was also in possession of cocaine.

The 65-year-old actor, who played ‘Luke Duke’ in the television series, was caught in Waltham, Massachusetts, where he is currently starring in a production of the musical ’42nd Street.’

Dukes of Hazzard was about good boys, who never meant any harm. Cousins Bo and Luke Duke certainly have a way of finding trouble with the law everywhere they turn. Their adventures as the Robin Hoods of their rural community of Hazzard County lead them to wild escapes, aided by their souped-up Dodge Charger called the General Lee. The boys’ nemesis is Boss Hogg, a corrupt politician who constantly sicks his minion, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, on the Dukes.

Waltham Police stated that they searched Wopat’s Ford Bronco, and they found two baggies with white powder, which they believe is cocaine. Another woman who was on set at the time accused him of sexual harassment and wanted precautions taken.

Wopat was expected to perform in the ’42nd Street’ production at the Reagle Music Theatre in the city of Greater Boston.

Moreover, the cocaine charge is a misdemeanor for Wopat, however, the indecent assault is a felony charge on his record.

The Middlesex district attorney’s office says Wopat is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Waltham District Court.

Wopat is still expected to be in the production, since it will be the show’s opening night. No word has been announced on whether he will have to serve time behind bars or pay a fee.

We will update you as more information surfaces about actor Tom Wopat.
