A ex-NFL player has been charged with the killing of his girlfriends 5-year-old daughter.
On Tuesday, Fowler Notre Dame Running back and Houston Texans player Cierre Wood was arrested with his girlfriend Amy Taylor were arrested on charges of child abuse and neglect of Taylor’s child.
While he was released on a $5,000 bond, he was rebooked on a charge of first-degree murder after the 5-year-old died at the hospital.
As for Amy, she was also being held on a $5,000 bond for the same charges of child neglect. It’s not known is she’s facing murder charges in the death of her daughter.
Woods had a short stint in the professional football world as he signed as a free agent in 2013 and only played three games and carried the ball a total of 9 yards.
He later signed with the New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills primarily as a practice squad player and capped his NFL career with two game-day appearances for Buffalo.
