The father of Boston Celtics draft pick Tremont Waters was found dead inside of a Connecticut hotel room Thursday.
The New York Post reports Edwin Waters Jr. was found dead at a Super 8 Hotel in West Haven and his death was ruled a suicide by the Cheif Medical Examiner. Earlier this week, his son Tremont Waters,21, signed a contract with the Boston Celtics and was the 51st pick in the NBA draft. He played two seasons at LSU and was named the Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Year during the 2018-19 season.

“Obviously, Tremont deserves a lot of the credit for that. But I don’t think Tremont gets to where he is now without his father.”
