The FDA has issued a warning about an erectile dysfunction supplement that is “working too well” for male consumers.
According to BGR, the Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers to avoid using the supplement called “Big Penis.” It states that the product works too well since it contains an unlabeled amount of sildenafil, an ingredient used in Viagra. Sildenafil can cause serious side effects for people who take blood pressure medications.
“FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Big Penis contains sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, an FDA-approved prescription drug for erectile dysfunction. This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.”
The mishap was found when the government agency was performing an examination of international mail shipments and was possibly selling Viagra under a different name without a prescription.
