Fight Over Nipsey Hussle’s Daughter Now Involves DCFS Officials
As we previously reported, Nipsey’s Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith, filed to be the guardian for his daughter Emani Asghedom following his tragic death. However, the request was denied because Emani’s biological mother Tanisha Foster, was not notified properly and appears to want an active role in the raising of the child.
Smith stated she wanted to ensure that Emani “can continue to live with family members with whom she has always had close ties.” The documents suggest that she had been living primarily with her father prior to his death,” adding that Tanisha is unable to provide a stable environment for the girl.
Nipsey, who tragically died in March at the hands of Eric Holder, did not have a will. However, during Tuesday’s court hearing a judge will help decide the emergency placement of Nipsey’s daughter, Emani with the help of Department of Children and Family Services officials in Los Angeles who will discuss the most beneficial placement for Emani, so that the girl can be around people she’s familiar with, and grow up in a stimulating environment, according to court docs’s obtained by The Blast.
As of right now, it’s unclear if Emani’s mother, Tanisha, will take on the late hip-hop star’s entire family for full custody of the girl. We will continue to keep you updated when more details have been shared.
