Five Children Riding Without Seatbelts Killed In Car Crash
Five children were tragically killed Saturday morning after they were ejected out of their seats during a car crash.
According to reports, the kid’s mother Dominique R. Taylor, 32, was driving when she lost control of her car at about 4:30am. The vehicle careered off the side of the road, hitting several trees in the process. The five children were thrown from the car as the vehicle came to a halt in a field.
Taylor was sent to a hospital although her condition is unclear. Cornell D. Simon, 23, who is said to be the kids father is in critical condition, according to police. Their children who were 8 and under were pronounced dead at the scene.
As of right now, police are now working to try to understand how the crash occurred, but they did note that the kids were not wearing seatbelts, according to the Daily Mail.
“Every collision where we lose life is a tragedy,” said Maryland State Trooper Capt. Daniel Pickett. “And where children are involved, it’s more of a tragedy.”
