Florida Man Commits Crime Moments After Being Freed From Jail
A Florida man couldn’t wait to go back to jail moments after his release because he was arrested after he allegedly tried to steal a car from the prison parking lot!
The NY Post reports that Michael Casey Lewis, 34, had just been released from St. Lucie County Jail in Fort Pierce when he was spotted in the parking lot by officers. He said he was waiting for his girlfriend, however, surveillance showed him trying to get into locked cars before he finally got into an open vehicle.
Neil Lettman, who arrested Lewis says that the suspect gave him “a brown paper bag” with items that he had stolen from the vehicle, including an iPhone 7, a debit card and $547 in cash.
“I placed Lewis in handcuffs and escorted him to our booking intake area,” the officer said.
Lewis was arrested and booked once again at the same jail that he had previously been in on burglary, grand theft, and possession of stolen property charges.
Fortunately for him, he was released again on an $11,250 bond and he managed to get further than the parking lot!
