Florida Man Who Thought He Bought A Villa For 9K Actually Purchased A Strip Of Grass
A Florida man who thought he came across an amazing deal on a villa in an online auction was disappointed after learning he actually snagged a strip of land.
Kerville Holness says he was deceived after thinking he won a sweet deal for a Tamarac villa that was valued at $177,000 and got it for only $9,100. Instead, he got a 1-foot-wide, 100-foot-long strip of land on Northwest 100th Way — valued at $50.
To make matters worse, he really can’t do anything about it but make make the most of his new property, according to an official who spoke with the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Despite that, Holness is looking for the county to somehow void the deal and give him his money back.
“It’s deception,” said Holness, a first-time auction bidder from Tamarac. “There was no demarcation to show you it’s just a line going through [the villa duplex], even though they have the tools to show that.”
