Forever 21 is hanging in there as they release a statement in response to the current lawsuit filed against them by Ariana Grande.
A few days back, we reported that Ariana Grande would be filing a $10 million lawsuit against Forever 21, and now the company has responded.
In a statement made to Today Style, Forever 21 says;
“Forever 21 does not comment on pending litigation as per company policy. That said, while we dispute the allegations, we are huge supporters of Ariana Grande and have worked with her licensing company over the past two years. We are hopeful that we will find a mutually agreeable resolution and can continue to work together in the future.”
This lawsuit came about after Grande was set to collaborate with Forever, however, the funds that they offered were not enough “for an artist of her stature” so she pulled out.
Grande’s team says that the fast-fashion retailer hired a look-alike after their endorsement deal fell through. The official complaint from Grande’s team reads,
“The campaign capitalized on the concurrent success of Ms. Grande’s album Thank U, Next by publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos misappropriating Ms. Grande’s name, image, likeness, and music in order to create the false perception of her endorsement.”
As more information is released about this case, we will keep you updated!
