Former Miss Uruguay Found Dead In Mexican Hotel; Had Alleged Ties To Escort Ring
This past week the body of former Miss Uruguay, Fatimih Davila Sosa, 31, was discovered hanging in a Mexico City hotel, and as authorities investigate, it’s believed that she may’ve had ties to a high-end escort ring.
Spanish media outlet El Pais reports that Davila Sosa’s name appeared in a 2012 book, written by Javier Benech, about an investigation into sex trafficking; however, no one was ever brought to trial in the case.
Additionally, Benech states that investigators allegedly tapped a conversation between Davila Sosa and one of the operation’s associates; on the call she reportedly asked how to “make myself more well-known” since “nobody cares about the Miss Uruguay title.”
While authorities continue to probe, there is no official ruling on her death; though the prosecutor’s office state a homicide investigation’s been launched.
Furthermore, she participated in the Miss Universe pageant in 2006 and the Miss World pageant in 2008, a spokesperson for the former told Fox News:
We are deeply saddened by the news and passing of Fatimih Davila, Miss Universe Uruguay 2006. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
