A Michigan boy was mauled to death by a pit bull late Tuesday evening. His family was keeping the dog as a foster pet.
According to Fox News, Hazel Park authorities responded to a call from a teen about an animal attack around 7 p.m. The 60-pound dog attacked four-year-old Benjamin Cobb and he suffered severe injuries on his body and neck. The pit bull also attacked Cobb’s mother but her wounds were not as critical. Animal control officials tasered the dog and brought it to a veterinarian hospital where it was euthanized.
The child was transported to a local hospital but he could not be saved due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident and said no details have been uncovered as of yet. One official said in a statement that the incident a “tragedy” and gave their condolences to the boy’s family.
