Future Beats Drake’s Record With Newest #1 Album On Top R&B/Hip-Hop Charts

Although critics claim that his newest album wasn’t exactly his best, numbers don’t lie, and Future just landed his ninth number one record on Billboard‘s Top R&B/Hip-Hop charts — dethroning Drake‘s record of most #1s this decade.

In addition to Honest (2014), DS2 (2015), What A Time to Be Alive (2015), EVOL (2016), Future (2017), HNDRXX  (2017), Super Slimey (2017), and WRLD on Drugs (2018), the “Mask Off” rapper’s 2019 release The WIZRD hit number one.

While he and Drizzy were previously tied, the Atlanta native is now one album ahead, beating the Toronto rapper for most #1 albums this decade. Additionally, with five #1s each this past decade, Chris BrownJ. ColeThe Game and The Weeknd tie for third place.

Additionally, WIZRD garnered over 126,000 equivalent album units in the weekend ending January 24, per Nielsen Music.
