Looks like George Lopez didn’t have the last laugh after all. The comedian has now been charged with a crime for getting physical with a fan who trolled him with a Trump joke and a camera in his face while he was trying to leave a restaurant.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say George will have to appear in court next month on a misdemeanor battery charge for physically setting a guy straight after he tried filming him at a Hooters back in October.
The incident was captured all on camera. The fan can be seen asking George for a picture while trolling him at the same time. George clearly wasn’t here for it and decided to stop the fan from filming him. The 57-year-old then can be seen grabbing the man’s neck and things just went left from there.
George eventually left the bar but cops were able to track him down the next day at a golf course, according to court documents obtained by the gossip site.
George simply told cops he reacted that way because he did not want to be filmed. He added that he believes the guy was trying to provoke him the minuet he spotted him leaving.
The officer informed George he’d be receiving a court summons for misdemeanor battery and that George was compliant.
