Gina Rodriguez Apologizes For Using N-Word While Rapping To Fugees On Instagram

Gina Rodriguez found herself having to send out a mass apology after she posted a video of her saying the n-word!

Gina Rodriguez is sending out an apology after she uploaded a video of her rapping along to the Fugees’ hit, “Ready or Not.”

The clip which has since been removed from social media showed the actress in hair and makeup while listening to the song. She could be seen reciting the verse

“I can do what you do, easy, believe me/Fronting n—-s give me hee-bee-gee-bees.”

While yes, the song did feature the word, Rodrigez caught major backlash resulting in Rodrigez taking to her Instagram story to send an apology!

“I just wanted to reach out and apologize,” she said. “I am sorry, I am sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to the Fugees, to a song I love that I grew up on. I love Lauryn Hill.”

This is not the first time that Rodrigez has come up in a conversation about race and language. If you recall, back in June, Rodrigez was in tears when asked about a comment she made that was perceived as anti-black. She’s also been accused of pitting black and Latinx actors against each other.

“Marvel and DC are killing it in inclusion and women, but where are the Latinos?! Asking for a friend…” she tweeted in 2017 during Black Panther‘s promo.
