A Dallas man was shot and killed after he tried to help a woman who was in a domestic dispute with another man near a convenience store.
CBS DFW reports 38-year-old Raylon Kyon Jones attempted to help the woman outside of TMA Grocery, near 2nd Avenue and Metropolitan Street. Police said in a statement that the store’s surveillance camera showed Jones being shot multiple times before collapsing on a field near the store. The suspect fled the scene moments after the shooting.
Shortly after the shooting, police found Jones injured and laying in the grass. He was transported to a local hospital but later died from his injuries.
The person of interest has been apprehended and identified as a 48-year-old man but investigators did not release his identity due to not being formally charged. He received treatment for his injuries and faces charges of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor assault.

Friends of Jones noted he was a single father of one and loved by everyone.
