A New Jersey woman and her nine-month-old son were attacked by a naked man who was high on drugs until a group of people came to their rescue Monday evening.
Philly Live reports Stephon Whitfield,28, approached the woman aggressively while she was pushing her son in a stroller and began to attack the infant Whitfield grabbed the boy and slammed him down into the stroller until a group of Good Samaritans approached him on Caspian Avenue. The residents grabbed Whitfield off of the child and start attacking him. One man was recorded on video kicking and punching him repeatedly.
Officers arrived at the scene around 9:20 p.m. and reported that Whitfield appeared to be “naked, yelling, and bleeding.”

The infant was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries such as bruising and swelling to his mouth and face. He also sustained scratches from the attack and one of his teeth were uprooted.

Whitfield was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, child endangerment, and disorderly conduct.
