A Brooklyn grandmother comes to her 3-year-old grandson’s rescue after chasing down a man who tried to kidnap the boy in his stroller.
The New York Daily News reports the would-be kidnapper took off with the child in the stroller while the boy’s grandmother was shopping at Thanksgiving Supermarket on 86th St. and Bay 31st St around 3:50 p.m. Monday.
The woman noticed that the man took off with the stroller and chased after him on 86th street. When she caught up to him, the man surrendered the child and the stroller then fled the scene.
Authorities reported that the boy was uninjured during the attempted kidnapping. Surveillance footage of the attempted kidnapping was shared by police on Wednesday asking the public to help identify the suspect.
The suspect is described to be in his mid-30s to early 40s, Asian, and was last seen wearing a black hat and hoodie.
