Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has just received his own holiday in Houston, Texas, as the city officially declares February 24th as Meek Mill Day; this following his Motivation Tour stop at the Revention Music Center this past weekend.
While taking to Instagram, following his Re, the rapper confirmed the news, posting a photo of himself holding the proclamation, dubbing the date as his own holiday.
Additionally, sources close to the “Litty Again” rapper say the honor acts as a nod towards his latest reform efforts within the criminal justice system.
Also, during his Houston stop, Meek addressed a group of boys in the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, stating:
“I wanted to be the smart kid who makes all the right decisions. If you want to go to the penitentiary and live that life, do that. But if you want to be somebody and you don’t want to fall victim to that—because we’ve got millions of people who look like us that have done that alread—then listen to the voice and make the right choices at the right time.”
