Hollywood Unlocked got exclusive access to a media panel discussion with Terrence J and actor Michael B. Jordan about the second installment to the “Creed” franchise.
“Creed 2” continues the “Rocky” legacy by following up with the fatal match between Russian boxer Ivan Drago and former U.S. champion Apollo Creed. The tragic match in the 1985 film stunned the world after Drago fatally stuck Creed and killed the boxing champion who had grown to become close friends with Balboa. Now in the second installment to “Creed”, Apollo’s son and current champ Adonis Creed accepts a challenge from Drago’s son, against the wishes of Balboa (Sylvester Stallone). Under guidance from Rocky, Adonis trains for the showdown of his life — a date with destiny that soon becomes his obsession.
We caught up with the film’s star Michael B. Jordan and the director Steven Caple Jr. and found out what viewers can expect from the latest film within the “Rocky” franchise.
Jordan explained how identity issues are at the center of the film as Creed struggles to find himself in a world without his father to guide him.
