HU Exclusive: Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy And Elizabeth Moss Take Over “The Kitchen”
Hollywood Unlocked stepped into the world of 1978’s Hell’s Kitchen for the Monday night premiere of “The Kitchen” starring Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss.
All three ladies reunited for the film’s Hollywood premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre and they posed up a storm together on the red carpet for a story that brings together women empowerment.
“The Kitchen,” written and directed by Andrea Berloff focuses on three housewives’ whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little to nothing, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands and they run the streets better than their male counterparts collecting and even creating jobs for the community.
We can’t help but fall in love with each woman and their unique personality, Kathy Brennan (Melissa McCarthy), who is a devoted mother of two and acts as the mother for the group, and Ruby O’Carroll (Tiffany Haddish), who married the brother of the local criminal captain but is still treated like an outsider for being black, and Claire Walsh (Elisabeth Moss), a violently abused wife, who turns into a sociopath after her Bonnie & Clyde relationship with Gabriel, who was her husband’s hit-man.
You won’t have one moment when you’re not on the edge of your seat, with constant plot-twists and moments that make you go AH. We even get a few shocks throughout the movie with a subplot involving an FBI agent played by Common, who gives us all a surprise towards the end.
With multiple subplots, protagonists and a star-studded cast we were left wanting more than 102 minutes, but you have to see it for yourself!
“The Kitchen” opens in theatres August 9!
