Hulu’s New Kids Cartoon To Feature Interracial Gay Couple & Black Daughter
In addition to Sesame Streets‘ Bert & Ernie reveal as a gay couple and Arthur‘s recent same-sex wedding episode, Hulu’s announced their forthcoming kids cartoon, The Bravest Knight, which features an interracial gay couple and their Black daughter.
While thirteen total episodes were ordered, this June, the streaming platform will debut the first five of the series, which is based on Daniel Errico‘s The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived.
Additionally, the cartoon follows 10-year-old Nia (voiced by A Wrinkle in Time‘s Storm Reid), who journeys to become a brave knight, listening to tales from her dad, Sir Cedric (voiced by Grey’s Anatomy‘s T.R. Knight) and his husband, Prince Andrew (voiced by Star Trek‘s Wilson Cruz).
In addition to the aforementioned, Bobby Moynihan, Christine Baranski, Wanda Sykes and RuPaul will also star in the series.
