Impossible Foods Raises $300M After JAY-Z, Serena Williams & Jaden Smith Invest
While investing in plant-based brand Impossible Foods, JAY-Z, Serena Williams, Jaden Smith, and Katy Perry have helped the company raise another $300M towards supplying the demand of meat-alternative options, CNN reports.
Additionally, the company behind Beyond Meat, and also backed by Trevor Noah and Zedd, announced Monday that they’ve raised more than $750M after its latest funding round; thus helping them continue their eat-less-meat strides.
In addition to hiring at least 50 more employees at his Oakland, CA factory, CFO David Lee shares, “The more normal the Impossible Burger becomes, the more we will see adoption. We are so small today that, until we reach a sizable portion of the overall market, I think we’re going to be growing to meet this scorching demand that we’re seeing today.”
